Step-by-step

Click the arrow at the top right to separate the Preview into its own window
Use the play controls to navigate through the project timeline
Click the split button dropdown to split clips at the cursor position
Select the Aspect Ratio dropdown to set the project dimensions
Go to the View menu and select Show Dual Previews

Options

Show Dual Previews to see clip and sequence windows simultaneously
Split one or multiple clips at once
