Animate and add motion blur in DaVinci Resolve

Step-by-step

1. Click the keyframe buttons at the top of the inspector to set initial movement
2. Click the keyframe icon on the clip in the timeline to open the keyframe editor
3. Select the specific keyframe variable you want to adjust
4. Press the curve buttons to change keyframes to smooth or adjustable types
5. Search for and apply the 'Directional Blur' effect to the clip
6. Keyframe the blur intensity and direction to match the character's movement

Options

• Use the 'Transform' effect for automatic blur (available in paid versions)
• Toggle between smooth keyframes or adjustable bezier handles

Watch out for

• The free version of DaVinci Resolve does not automatically include motion blur in the transform effect; it must be applied manually

Tips

• Manually intensify the directional blur as the speed of the movement increases
• Apply smoothness to the blur keyframes to match the movement curves
