Step-by-step

  1. Navigate to the Color page
  2. Click the Magic Mask icon
  3. Select the eyedropper with the plus sign and click on the subject
  4. Press the track button to process the entire clip
  5. Right-click in the node area and select Add Alpha Output
  6. Connect the blue square from the node to the blue Alpha Output circle

Options

  • Toggle the red mask overlay on or off to visualize the selection
  • Switch between Faster or Better quality modes
  • Invert the mask to apply color grading changes to the background instead of the subject

Tips

  • Set the quality to Better for a sharper job and more detail in the hair
  • Scrub through the timeline after tracking to verify the accuracy of the mask
