Step-by-step

Click on Apps in the left toolbar of Canva
Search for and select Magic Media
Click on the Videos tab
Enter a descriptive prompt in the text box
Click Generate video
Title your Canva project while the video generates
Hover over the generated video to preview it
Click the video to add it to your canvas

Options

Use pre-built prompts by clicking 'Inspire me'
Resize the video to fit the entire screen

Watch out for

Generating a video consumes one of 50 credits which refresh at the start of the month
Magic Media credits are separate from Canva's standard AI credit system

Tips

Be very specific in your prompt, defining the shot type, lighting, and specific actions
Define all visual elements within the prompt as it is the sole basis for the video creation
