Enable and use spell check in DaVinci Resolve

A demonstration of enabling the new spell check feature in preferences and using it to correct typos or manage ignored words in a Text+ node.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Preferences and navigate to the User tab
  2. Search for 'spell check' and ensure the 'Spelling check' box is ticked
  3. Select a Text+ node and type your content
  4. Right-click any word with a red zigzag underline to view suggestions
  5. Select a suggested word to correct the typo, or click 'Ignore' to remove the underline
  6. Click 'Manage ignored words' to add custom terms to your personal dictionary

Options

  • Set a specific input language manually instead of using the 'Auto' default
  • Add custom brand names or unique terms to the dictionary via 'Manage ignored words'

Watch out for

  • The spell check feature requires DaVinci Resolve 21 or later

Tips

  • Use the 'Manage ignored words' feature for recurring brand names or usernames that aren't in standard dictionaries to prevent constant error flags
