CLIP Text Encoding in ComfyUI

ComfyUITry it →Watch full video →Joey /// VP Land ·

Demo summary

The demo shows how to use CLIP Text Encode nodes for positive and negative prompting to translate text into latent vectors that the model can understand.

Step-by-step

  1. Connect the CLIP output from the Checkpoint Loader to the CLIP input of the CLIP Text Encode nodes
  2. Create one CLIP Text Encode node for the positive prompt
  3. Create a second CLIP Text Encode node for the negative prompt
  4. Enter your text prompt into the nodes to encode the text into latent vectors

Watch out for

  • Not every model supports negative prompting
  • The CLIP node is for language-image pre-training, not image clipping or cropping

Tips

  • Think of prompts as pulling notions of objects, places, and experiences from the latent space rather than just simple words
