Configuring custom Auphonic presets

Demo summary
A detailed walkthrough of the Auphonic UI where the user names a preset, selects WAV output formats, configures Voice Auto EQ, and sets specific noise reduction and breath removal parameters.
Step-by-step
- Name your preset in the initial text field
- Navigate to Output Files and select WAV as the format
- Append '_auphonic' to the file name suffix to distinguish the edited version
- Go to Audio Algorithms and select Voice Auto EQ
- Select a Noise Reduction method such as Dynamic, Speech Isolation, or Static
- Adjust the noise reduction and breath removal sliders between 3dB and 100dB
- Enable Automatic Cutting for silences, filler words, or coughs if desired
- Click Save Preset
Options
- Choose between 16-bit or 24-bit WAV bit depth
- Use Speech Isolation to remove background music
- Use Static noise reduction for constant hums like air conditioning
- Set reduction levels to 100dB for full removal or lower for a natural sound
- Enable Remove Reverb to eliminate echoes
Watch out for
- 24-bit WAV files will result in a larger file size than 16-bit
Tips
- 16-bit is generally sufficient for most purposes
- Use Voice Auto EQ if you have audio where frequencies are missing to blend them for a fuller sound
- Leave Noise Reduction on Dynamic unless you have a specific need to isolate speech from music
- If you want to hear a little bit of the background for naturalness, set reduction to medium or high rather than 100dB
