Descript: Creating and customizing a Layout Pack

Demo summary
The video shows the step-by-step process of creating a new layout pack in Descript, including selecting color schemes, setting brand fonts, and naming the pack.
Step-by-step
- Click Layout packs on the left side of the Descript drive
- Click New layout pack in the top right corner
- Select Remix gallery layout pack to generate a branded set of layouts
- Choose a starting color scheme from the dropdown menu
- Customize primary text, accent text, and background colors using the color picker or hex codes
- Set the font, weight, and capitalization for Title, Subtitle, and Text categories
- Enter a name for the pack and select a sharing level
- Click Create layout pack and wait for the process to complete
- Click Save layout pack to finalize
Options
- Start from scratch instead of using a gallery remix
- Adjust color transparency using the transparency slider
- Add custom fonts or fonts from the Google library
- Set sharing level to Private, Share with drive, or Share publicly
Tips
- I recommend using the remix gallery layout pack because it creates 122 layouts in your branding automatically
- Use hex codes if you have specific colors for your brand
- Use 'Black' weight for titles to make them as bold as possible
- Use 'All caps' for titles if you want them to really stand out
