Remove watermarks manually in Adobe Photoshop

Step-by-step

1. Press Ctrl + J to duplicate the photo layer and rename it.
2. Go to Select and choose Color Range.
3. Set the drop-down to Sampled Colors, uncheck Invert, and use the first eyedropper to click the watermark color.
4. Adjust the Fuzziness slider until only the watermark color is visible in the preview.
5. Go to Select and choose Select and Mask.
6. Set View Mode to Black and White, adjust Radius, Feather, Contrast, and Shift Edge, then set Output to Selection.
7. Go to Select, choose Modify, then Expand the selection by 1 pixel.
8. Go to Edit, select Fill, and choose Content-Aware from the contents list.
9. Press Ctrl + D to deselect.

Watch out for

• The Expand selection pixel value depends on your specific image size.
• Selection edges that are too close to the watermark can result in sharp, pixelated artifacts if not adjusted.

Tips

• Decrease fuzziness to isolate only the watermark color across the entire image.
• Use Select and Mask to soften edges and prevent extreme edges from being left out on pixelated images.
